Massachusetts Clean Heat Platform

Contact Your Legislators

If you want to support the Clean Heat Platform, the most effective thing you can do is reach out to your state lawmakers. Studies have shown that lawmakers' chances of supporting a bill can be increased by as few as five people reaching out!

Contact your lawmaker in 4 steps.

1. Plan out what you want to say. Whether you are calling/leaving a message or sending an email the message does not have to be long or perfect.

It can be as simple as:

“Hello. My name is Steve Clarkson. I live in Ashford. I care about climate change because I want to pass on a good world to my children. I am calling to ask you to support the policies outlined in the Clean Heat Platform. Massachusetts has a long way to go to reduce building emissions and it would be great to see us make real progress on that in the next year. Have a good day.”

2. Decide if you want to call (if you call after hours, you can just leave a message) or email your legislators.

3. Find your State Rep and Senator and their contact information here: https://malegislature.gov/Search/FindMyLegislator

4. Then call their offices or send them a brief email.

That’s it. Thank you so much for taking action!
