Massachusetts, Defend Clean Car Regulations!

Automakers, car dealers, and the fossil fuel lobby have been campaigning across the country to undermine, delay, or destroy key regulations to reduce pollution from vehicles.

It is critical that we keep taking action to defend these regulations to protect public health and fight climate change.

Individuals: Take Action

Call or email Governor Maura Healey’s office at (617) 725-4005 or via this form with the following message:

Dear Governor Healey,

My name is ____ and I am a constituent, residing in zip code ____. I am calling on you to stay the course and implement the Advanced Clean Cars II regulations – do not delay. The ACCII regulations are key to protecting public health, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and protecting consumer choice. Consumers want EVs, and the infrastructure to support cars far surpasses what there is for trucks. At a time when we are seeing so many rollbacks regarding clean energy and clean air at the federal level, it is critical that our state stands strong.

[Strengthen your message by adding a paragraph about why you personally care about fighting climate change and reducing air pollution.]

Organizations: Take Action

A group of 70 coalitions submitted this letter to Governor Maura Healey on April 28. We are still accepting sign-ons and will resubmit as needed. If your organization would like to join, email anna@greenenergyconsumers.org.

A Timely Reminder

Here’s a timely reminder of why we need to increase EV adoption. Health expert Dr. Ashish Jha explains by getting serious about accelerating emissions reductions, we will see immediate health benefits in communities across the region. “But we are not where we should be. No New England state is in the top 10 of electric vehicle ownership per capita, and Massachusetts lags behind states like Arizona, Utah, and Florida in EV ownership. This, too, needs to change.”
