Tax Receipts - 2 of 2: Determine Deduction & get receipt

You will need a copy of your January 2026 electric bill.

Your payments for additional renewable energy were included in the total cost per kilowatt-hour (kWh) of electricity which was billed to you within the supply section of your electric bill. Therefore, we need to know how many kWh you used in 2025.
Grab a calculator or pen & paper.
Refer to the sample bill below, and to your electric bill, and follow these final steps to receive an email with your tax-deductible charitable contributions.

Electric Bill - NG pg 1 (1)
  1. Find the "Electricity Usage History" section, highlighted in red on the sample bill here. Add up the numbers representing your kilowatt hour ("kWh") usage for each month you were enrolled in the Standard option in 2025.

*only add up the months for which you know you were enrolled. For most people, this will be all 12 months. If you're not sure, use all 12 months.

The tax deduction will be different based on which community your property is in. If you pay the electric bill for more than one property in the same community, and all properties are enrolled in the Standard option, you can add up the total kWh on each electric bill to one sum and submit this form once. If you pay the electric bill for properties in more than one eligible community, you should go through the process for each community.

  2. Enter sum from #2 into the box labeled "Sum of your kWh usage for 2025" in the form belowalong with your contact information. Then, hit "send my receipt."
