Climate change threatens every Rhode Islander; every Rhode Islander is responsible to act. Here's a simple action you can take for our climate.
Audubon Society of Rhode Island has worked alongside Green Energy Consumers as a clean energy advocate for many years. Now we're working together to ask Rhode Islanders to choose green electricity through Green Energy Consumers' "Green Powered" program.
Climate change is an unequivocal threat to every Rhode Islander. Audubon has been a tireless advocate of responsible climate change policy, a promoter of green infrastructure, and a supporter of efforts toward climate resiliency. But climate change requires every Rhode Islander to enlist in taking action--through small steps and large strides.
Switching to Green Powered is a small step with a mighty impact. Enroll in just 5 minutes, and make a difference every time you pay your electric bill. Plus, say Audubon referred you, and Green Energy Consumers will donate up to $50 to us.
You can choose this electricity mix in just a few simple steps.
Right now, most of your electricity comes from burning fossil fuels and from nuclear power. When you make the switch to Green Powered, your home’s electricity consumption will be matched with 100% renewable energy from New England, removing the need for fossil fuels to power your home.
That means fewer fossil fuels on the grid.
CHOOSE
from one of two options.
Green Powered 100% | Green Powered 25% |
100% New England wind (New) | 25% wind, solar and digester gas (New) |
3.8 cents/kWh added to your electric bill $15-$23 per month on average |
2.2 cents/kWh added to your electric bill $10-$15 per month on average |
ENROLL
in just 5 minutes online or via phone. All you need is your electricity account number.
Make sure to mention that the Audubon Society of Rhode Island sent you!
PAY YOUR ELECTRIC BILL
as normal. Green Powered will appear there, and you'll still make just one payment to National Grid. You will pay a few cents extra per kWh for renewable energy.
Support renewable energy sources in your backyard.
